OUR IMPACT

We track wellbeing data using standardised scales that measure psychological distress in young people. We also ask every family the same questions about their experiences, wellbeing, relationships, and daily life.
We do this before we commence, then again after 6 and 12 sessions.

The results of the first year of the foundation give us a powerful glimpse of what can happen when cost and access stop being barriers to care.

44% reduction in psychological distress

Young people began support experiencing, on average, very high levels of psychological distress.

After therapeutic support, their average psychological distress score had reduced by 44%, moving from the very high range to the moderate range.

Behind that number are young people feeling better able to cope, families beginning to breathe again, and hope starting to return.

Parents and carers told us the impact extended well beyond the counselling room.

35% improvement in parent and carer wellbeing.

40% improvement in family relationships.

35% improvement in parents’ ability to manage work and daily life.

For many families, there was nowhere else to go.

When families were asked whether they would have been able to access mental health care for their child without subsidised support, most told us no, probably not, or maybe.

When asked what would have happened instead, common responses included:

“We would have had no support.”

“We would have gone on a waitlist for public health services.”

We don’t believe a family’s bank balance should determine whether a young person gets help.

And we don’t believe they should have to wait until things reach crisis point before support becomes available.

In their words:

“This was the first time support felt truly accessible and focused on *child* as a whole person. The changes we’ve seen have gone far beyond what I expected… it has helped our entire family.”

“There simply are not words to express how much The Village and Elizabeth mean to us. You have saved my daughter’s life. I do not say that lightly. If we had not come across Elizabeth and The Village I hate to think where we would be.”

"We tried for a long time to get help and kept hitting barriers like long waitlists, high costs, and services that just didn’t feel right. We feel more hopeful, more supported, and more confident that we can manage the challenges that come up."

This is what your support makes possible.

These results come from our first year in opperation.

They show us something important: accessible, relationship-based mental health care can create meaningful change for young people and their families in our region.

With our community behind us, we can make that support available to more young people.

More families reached earlier.

More young people feeling that they belong.

More opportunities to step in before crisis.

Imagine what we could do together.

These results are from our first year. 18 young people and their families.

Now imagine the impact if we could reach hundreds more.

More young people getting help before they lose hope.

More parents finding support before they reach breaking point.

More families able to access care because cost isn’t standing in their way.

More young people growing up knowing that when life gets hard, their community will show up for them.

We already know what can happen when support becomes accessible.

Now we need our community behind us to make it possible for more young people.

It’s about changing the trajectory of young lives.

It’s about stepping in earlier.

It’s about making sure a young person never has to become unwell enough before they become worthy of help.

Be part of their village.

Donate. Partner. Fund a young person’s care.

Help us reach the next family before they reach crisis.
